Validation of SPH-flow on fluid impact test cases

Zao & Faltinsen test case

Dambreak fall on a fixed obstacle

This test case is a classical one for free surface codes. The experimental and computational set-up is presented in the picture bellow.

The following picture presents the comparion of SPH-flow and experimental longitudinal force acting on the fixed obstacle. The differences observed are very small, and SPH-fow solver is able to capture accurate and thin peak of the forces occuring during impact of the flow on the obstacle.

An animation of the simulation is presented herafter. It was obtained using the marching cube algorithm to produce meshed surface of the free surface able to be easily displayed using classical rendering software.
